Specialists in the restoration of listed buildings, our highly trained and equipped team of master carpenters provide a service reputed for the quality of their work. With more than 2400m² of workshop dedicated to this activity, complete ‘in shop’ restoration of timber framed structures is possible. Great attention is paid to timber selection and our stock of over 3000m3 of new sawn, seasoned and salvaged wood provides a wealth of choice. Preparation and supervision is assured by our team of project managers, structural engineers and draughtsmen capable of undertaking the most challenging of projects.

Half timbered buildings

The half-timber technique is ancestral. The specific skills and unequalled acquired know-how of our master carpenters allow them to half-timbered buildings of our heritage using traditional methods: from the replacement of defective parts to the dismantling of the entire structure.
Drawbridges and Footbridges
Restoration of medieval castles.
Situated in the Loire Valley, ATELIERS PERRAULT is surrounded by a wealth of historical buildings including medieval castles. The upkeep of this heritage provides a variety of projects to test our ingenuity and deepen our understanding. A good example of this type of project is the realization of replica drawbridges. A typical drawbridge combines hand forged pivots, straps and nails complementing brushed and limed oak joists and boards, providing a great opportunity for our carpenters and blacksmiths to work together.

Gargoyles, dragons, lions and monsters.
Imposing carved frameworks are a joy to behold. Adorned and highly decorated with gargoyles and sculptures they display the talents of carpenters from as far back as the Middle-Ages. ATELIERS PERRAULT restore with passion and precision these magnificent ancient frameworks.
